to set the scene... Audrey likes to help out when she can. And sometimes I let her feed the cats. Usually we keep all of the cat stuff in the basement, i.e. food, kitty litter, etc. but right now we have all of that stuff upstairs so we can remodel the basement. (Which is coming along just great I will have to post about that soon.)
Audrey noticed this morning that the cats were without food and was all over asking if she could feed them. I said yes. (and yes that is where my mistake was) Audrey knows the general portions to feed the cats. She gives them just a little more than they are supposed to get. But she gets the idea... Ellie however does not. Ellie thought they were just having fun and giving the kitties "TWEET". Ellie loves to give the dog "tweet", as well and will give her many, many bones if I don't tell her that is enough. But also they began to have fun just digging into the cat food... and this is what I found when I decided to investigate why Audrey was not done feeding the cats as it is only a maybe 3 minute job...
Okay, so it wasn't a horribly horrible mess... but it still made me shake my head in confusion... needless to say this morning is starting out "wonderfully"...

Oh dear. :) I love how the black cat is looking so possessive in the first pic. Also, at first I thought your striped cat was rolling in the food. Glad to see he's just eating it. :)
PS. I can't tell you the number of times I've cleaned up similar messes... though it seems my girls prefer to just dump the food in the water and watch it swell. Dry food is much cleaner.
yeah lucky for me the cats had drained the water dishes before all of this happened... so it was all dry and very easy to clean. Oh and Ellie wanted to help me clean it up, of course she cleaned it up 4 pieces at a time... :)
Hilarious! I'm laughing and laughing. At least they haven't colored each other with red lipstick yet... :)
